Dear Friends, When you told us you couldn't say enough nice things about Ginger, you were right on. She is one of the sweetest, best natured Chessies we've ever had. What a love! First few nights we made her bed in the washroom until the other two dogs and cat got used to her. They were all getting along so well that about the fourth night when she gave me one of her "hound dog" looks we let her stay in the dining room where she likes to sleep under the table. All went well. The next night she moved herself to one of the dog beds in the living room. Couple nights there and I woke up to find her beside the bed. Pretty sneaky huh? Now she and CindyLou head straight for the bedroom at night. She acts half her age. Lots of energy and stamina. Been on the go constantly. Shows no stiffness, hip or breathing problems. Unloading out of the back of the pick-up is a lot better now. At first she was reluctant to let my husband lift her. Loves to chase around squirrels, and hearing the warming chirps of rock-chucks drives her crazy. Her last weigh-in at the vets on an electronic scale, showed her at 118lbs. We have her on a good diet. Feeding Iams Active maturity plus Joint Care Plus. Course she always manages to give you one of her "looks" to get a treat. Her eye surgery went well. Tina Gertsch D.V.M. of the Alpine Vet Clinic did the surgery. Was not disfiguring to the eye at all and i doubt there will be much of a scar. Shell spend the rest of her life hiking, swimming, and getting as much love as she gives. We adore her already and cant believe someone actually gave her up. (Though glad they did!) Thank You from you Wyoming friends, Charles and Kathie Nunn Zeke, CindyLou, Ginger, Sweetpea the cat, Buster the horse, Millie, and five pigeons. |
